Losing Human Touch With Customers

Losing Human Touch With Customers:

Confessions Of A Small Business Owner

small business owner

George Clay

Just about everyone I talk to these days says the same thing:

Business is slow and companies big and small holding off making decisions.

Are you in agreement?

If not. Count your blessings.

But for the rest of us a small business owner I’ve been corresponding with in Colorado sent me this email that pretty much covers the bases.

“I talk with a lot of friends who are in the 50’s

And there is a consistent mesage that people are lost and confused about what’s going on ecomomically, in their businesses, in their lives…

A lot of them are empty nesters, so their expenses have dropped, but their businesses aren’t as highly valued, they want to sell, but won’t be left with as much as they’d like after taxes.

Also, there’s a feeling that digital technology has changed the dynamics of so many industries and removed the human, relationship element from it.  Strange times

That last part about digital technology I underscored in bold…because to me it is key to solving the business slow down problem.

Make your marketing and interactions with prospects and your customers more personalized.

Consider hand-written notes and first-class personal mail with real stamp out and back.

Same goes for follow-up calls — real-time and not voice-mail.

Make those calls and send out personal mailings to show everyone you are there to help them get where they want to go and not just sell them like they are just another digital impression on the internet landscape.
